Some of y'all know already and some of y'all don't.
The BIG NEWS is......... I'm getting married :>.
The big Day is :14th April 2007

This mass email is sent out to all those people friends/acquaintances etc I've known through the years and through

It doesn't matter that I've probably not seen many of y'all for close to a decade now. What's important is that this mail finds all of y'all in good health and happiness.
I know most of y'all must be spread across all different corners of the globe, but for those in Mumbai or for those who may be in Mumbai

It has been a LONG time since I've posted.
So much has happened over the last couple of months.
Been to India and back, met the parents..all went well.
Now we're semi-plannin our wedding.
Highlights
1.We bought our rings last weekend. It's gone for resizing so have to wait a little longer for them :(.
2.Adjusting to life here--Sydney CAN be so draining! ( ..and I'm a mumbai girl and all). I've gone soft living in Aussie country for so long.
3.Been slowly filling up our house with electronics furniture etc (There is truly nothing like being able to buy your own things)

The best of course is!! we bought ourselves a brand new  Toyota RAV4! .

Ours is black!

And we're going to pick it up today!. (excited..would be an understandment!).
We're celebrating the car and christmas by driving up to Coffs harbour for a few days.
Haven't had a break  in ages, and can't wait!!!
p.s Congrats dianaparadise on a beautiful healthy baby. God bless you and your family :)
Yay for eh_donia (visa, trip back home and bollywood dancing!!)
Hi to everyone else :).

Ohhh 2 days (and 1 and half hours) of work to go!before I'm officially unemployed!.*
This week has been crazy busy, as expected.
My work farewell do has been brought forward to tonight!.
So hmm, with about approx 16 of us (with a possible appearance of the CEO and his wife-Oh Dear.)
the night should be b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l; except! of the awkwardness associated with knowing everyone at the restaurant (cause I did work there through uni for 3 years!). Ahhh.
Nothing a nice glass of wine can't fix.:)-

* However I did get a call from a recruitment agency this morning, confirming an interview for next Tuesday!
The silly guy then called back to ask if I would be available for an interview this week. This, after telling him earlier
I'm moving to Sydney this weekend.
Ahh sigh:p, well he said he'll work around it.
It's okay, I'll wait and apply for more jobs.

The cutest thing is I've seen cars actually stop to let ducks through!:d
I love going there at lunch, sitting on the park benches (or under a tree) reading my book, or nibbling on some lunch!, just a few quiet moments surrounded by nature at it's best, in my otherwise ordinary work day.

This white duck stood out, because it was the only! white duck

there:D and a very bold one indeed!. it came up close to where I was sitting and stared at me for what seemed like forever!:)-*joy*

Sigh, I'm definitely going to miss this place.A week to go now:o

Hah, This Aussie "venture" of sorts has taken the country /world) by storm lately.
Latest on it:

"As debate over the calendar raged across the media, public forums and blogs, the site racked up 3.5 million hits worldwide within 24 hours. Then on Friday night it was almost struck down by a denial of service attack co-ordinated from the US."
"A targeted denial-of-service attack from the US failed in its mission over the weekend to shut down an Australian website promoting a controversial calendar showcasing the sexy side of women who work in the IT sector."

The Screen Goddess calendar was created by IT industry worker Sonja Bernhardt to tempt more women into technology-related careers. However, it met a storm of controversy last week because some of its "models" appeared partially clad.

That's Sharon (portraying a James Bond character, think this one's off Dr Who)
Sharon is the General Manager, Products and Services for iBurst - one of the world's first open access Mobile Broadband Data Network Services. GM Products & Services for Personal Broadband Australia

Full article here:
To me, it's amusing and surprising all at once.Especially as I didn't think something like this  really existed in the "Western world".

While the Australian Computer Society (ACS) agrees there is a growing shortage of women in IT, the organisation chose to withdraw its sponsorship of the calendar last week because of concerns over the cover shot featuring helpdesk manager Sonja Breeze, who is adorned only with rose petals.

At the end of the day my personal opinion rests with: The girls seemed to have had fun doing the spread, and hey if they can genuinely earn money off  it to put towards a cause why not?.
One doesn't HAVE to read deep into it and as one said
"Can they be more blonde!" OR
The  venture simply promotes an image that one has to be beautiful to succeed in IT .hah!-That's not fair:<.

Hey in India at least,  I know there are heaps of females pursuing an IT career .(However there is that odd exception).
One of my friends back in college, was NOT allowed to pursue her Master's in IT (cause then she would be way more educated than the male counterparts in the community)and hence wouldn't find an eligible groom later. (Seriously).

Recently while going through all the books I owe here!, I came across "CoupleHood"--Paul Reiser.
(of "Mad about you"-fame).
The book is like a takeoff from the show, detailing relationships in a light easy to read,
really funny manner!.I HAD to re-read yet again!:)-

Now I want to read
Babyhood

Has anyone read it?

Yay!

..So I've been using Rediff (started off with its email service) for a very long time now, and only yesterday was thinking about how it could really do with a visual makeover!
And woah!, I surf through to the website this morning, and and it  has a NEW look!
I like it, its neat and simple, keeping with its old colors yet distinct and fresh .
I dig :o it:)-

Living away from India, I love how easy it is to catch up with all the news, gossip etc on the site.It has blogs, and active message boards too (however I do reckon they could be improved!)
I guess mid-day and indiatimes are other popular portals, but I'm partial to rediff!.

So what Indian portals do y'all like?.
